So you think you need to lose some weight and you want to do it in a hurry; take the easy road. All you have to do is sit down at your computer and type in “diets” and you will finds hundreds of them; they are generally called “fad diets” and some are potentially hazardous to your health. In this email I will try to explain a few of these diets and help you sort out the concepts of how they work.
If you’re thinking about trying “The Atkins Diet”, you might want to consider what this consists of. You will lose weight nd quickly,
With this diet you will also lose important vitamins and nutrients you need to stay healthy and energetic. Carbs are what give you energy; a very important part of your diet. Eliminating them can cause serious side effects.
The “Medifast Diet” centers on eating one specific type of food and eliminating all others. This is quite harmful because it is the variety of food that gives you the nutrition you need to stay healthy. Subscribers to this diet usually have the specific type of food mailed to them, which can be quite expensive and generally includes two weeks’ worth of food.
Famous actors have been paid to endorse the “Nutrisystem Diet” which is very popular and has produced excellent results. However, it is costly as you must order your meals and have them shipped to you. This diet is based on healthy choices in foods; something you, yourself can do without having to pay for the meals. Ask your doctor for a diet plan and then buy and fix your own healthy meals and save yourself some money.
Another low carbohydrate type of diet is called the “South Beach Diet”; similar to the Atkins Diet, which eliminates carbs and promises fast weight loss. These are pre-packaged types of diets and are sold at the grocery store. Like the Atkins, it is not suggested you remove the intake of carbohydrates from your diet; it can lead to health problems
The “Slim-Fast Diet” has been on the market for a long time. You had the mixture to low or slim fat milk, however, the name is deceiving; “fast”; you shouldn’t expect this diet to work if you need to fit into a dress in two weeks.
These are only but a very few of the hundreds of different fads diets on the market. Before you decide to go on any diet, it is best to consult your doctor as to how much weight you need to lose and get his advice on the safest method of doing so. With any diet, you must exercise for best results; this increases your metabolism and helps you to burn stored fat, which is how you lose weight.
Fast Easy Weight Loss Food Ideas

M >edicine has proved that weight gain is primarily caused by excess food consumption and the number of cases where weight is gained by a hormonal imbalance or thyroid malfunction is relatively low. Perhaps by learning a little more about food that helps you lose weight it will help with your weight problem.
Some foods help control weight whilst others actively promote the burning of excess body fat. There are several categories of weight loss food you should have a look at, and here are a few of them to give you an idea about how diverse a diet can be.
Some of these foods are commonly used and include the likes of pasta dishes, meals that contain Brussels, cabbage and peas. Tomato sauce is actually better for you than tomatoes but if you add this to a portion of spaghetti and perhaps mix it with some veal which is also low in fat you have a highly nutritious low fat, great tasting meal. White fish has long been known to be healthy but it is also good for weight maintenance as well especially if you have this with vegetables that have been steamed and even mash potatoes have a low calorie count. You can even eat fresh sweet cheese providing it is low fat but yogurt; porridge and even dark rice are healthy weight loss foods.
Apart form vegetables most fruits are good for the metabolism, being full of antioxidants but special mention should be made of oranges, lemons, grapefruits and especially apples. Fruits like kiwi, strawberries and water melons are also good if you are pursuing a weight loss food program. Grapes can also be good but bananas and figs actually contain high amounts of calories although bananas are an excellent fuel source when you are carrying out physical activity. Of course vegetables are mainly made up of water but also contain amounts of healthy nutrients and minerals plus large quantities can be eaten without weight gain so the likes of tomatoes, cucumber, celery, lettuce are all good weight loss foods.
It should be worth mentioning that cakes, take-aways, sandwiches and fast food are way off regular weight loss food; on the contrary these may very well be the factors for which you’re having weight or health problems. Most foods are now available in ‘health option’ versions which are low in fat content and whilst this is going to be better for you it does not mean these are truly healthy foods. It would be unfair to exclude everything that is nice from your weight loss diet but you should check the ingredients labels carefully on these products before you start using them.
How To Overcome Symptoms of Gerd and Acid Reflux Disease

The painful condition where the contents of the stomach want to flow back the way they came to cause heartburn is something we may all have experienced in our lives: it is called acid reflux. This is a disorder of the gastrointestinal tract (digestive system) and even though this condition is often known by different names, they have similar symptoms. The digestive system uses hydrochloric acid to digest and process food. The disorder gives you a burning sensation in your chest near the heart and stomach, when the acid wants to return up the digestive tract.
When we eat and swallow our food it is allowed into the stomach area to be digested by the esophageal sphincter valve which should then close back up in order to stop the hydrochloric acid from escaping. The esophageal sphincter should close and trap the acid but when this doesn’t happen and the acid escapes back up the digestive tract the condition of acid reflux or heartburn is the result.
You may also hear the name gastro esophageal reflux disorder, which is its full title or sometimes abbreviated to GERD. Although the real cause of acid reflux disorder has not yet been found, it is thought that eating the wrong foods could be to blame; factors that include overeating, can also put a strain on the stomach and contribute to the disorder.
It is never wise to eat large amounts at is puts a significant strain on the stomach muscles which in turn results in pressure within the gut itself. Something has to give; this being the acid which returns or refluxes back up the esophagus bringing with it the very unpleasant heartburn. Reducing the amount of pressure on the esophageal valve will lessen the chance of stomach acids forcing their way back up the digestive tract.
This can be achieved by consuming smaller meals, the incidences of heartburn should reduce. Your mouth, esophagus, and stomach are the first areas of food processing so if something goes wrong in this area, if will affect the health of the entire body. This is because the stomach is not only responsible for breaking down our food but also for preparing this food to be converted to specific nutrients that everyone’s body needs.
A short term solution may appear to be the drugs that are easily purchased over the counter but guidance is needed. The problem is these ‘short term’ remedies can create other problems as they interfere with the natural functioning of the digestive system. It may take a while but the best solution is to make adjustments to your drinking and eating habits which may have caused the acid reflux condition. This will then allow your stomach to settle down and regain its strength. You may have to take it easy for a while but eventually there shouldn’t be any reason why you cannot enjoy the foods you have been forced to give up for a while.
Of course acid reflux can also be aggravated by a number of other situations; for instance:
Smoking cigarettes, pipes or cigars, chewing tobacco, and drugs
Food allergies
Prescription and OTC drugs and medication
Drinking too much alcohol
Having a sleep after eating a meal
Surely a few changes in the way you live your life aren’t too much to ask. It doesn’t take that much to make a difference. All that is required is a little dedication on your part to be careful about what you eat and drink to possibly clear up your acid reflux problem. This is a decision which only you can make but it shouldn’t take Einstein to know what the choice should be!

When considering a diet to lower cholesterol, many doctors have drawn attention to how significant it is to accompany the diet with a proper fitness routine and some exercise. If you are considering going on this diet or were instructed to by your doctor, you should learn about the levels of cholesterol and what makes them high so you can avoid those factors.
The first step you should take is to have your doctor test your current cholesterol level by conducting a blood chemistry analysis test. You can often await the results when you visit your doctor if the laboratory is close by and delivers the results quickly. However, you may need to come back as some doctors call you back in for a consultation after the laboratory has delivered the results of your blood chemistry test.
The Value Of A Diet To Lower Cholesterol
If you maintain a high level of cholesterol over a period of time, it can lead to major health problems and diseases. One of these health problems is that it can stop the function of many of your organs. Another problem, which is far more serious, is that it can lead to your death. This is why many doctors stress that people with high cholesterol need to go on a diet to lower cholesterol and accompany that with a exercise routine.
The Essentials Needed To Lower Cholesterol
There are some items which you need to take out of your daily meals as much as possible. The main items you need to get rid of are fatty foods, salt and unnecessary carbohydrates. There are more things you need to avoid in your daily meals, but these are just the main ones that you need to be aware of.
On the flip side, there are some items which you need to implement into your daily meals in order to have a successful diet to lower cholesterol. These foods are those high in fiber and complex carbohydrates which include wholegrain foods, beans, brown rice, fruits and vegetables. By having more of these good cholesterol foods in your daily diet, they will help your body get rid of the bad cholesterol.
It is imperative for those that have a high level of cholesterol to maintain a proper balance of cholesterol. This can easily be accomplished by increasing your daily diet with foods high in good cholesterol and decreasing foods high in bad cholesterol.
When you begin on your diet to lower cholesterol, you need to keep in mind that you will not see any instantaneous results as the change will happen gradually. You will also be avoiding some major health problems like your organs shutting down and even death. To make your diet easy to remember, just include more foods high in fiber and try to get rid of the fatty foods and salt.
