After reading all the rave reviews on the Sole F85, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Why were so many people excited about this machine? Why is it Sole Fitness’ number one selling treadmill? So, I took a look at it for myself.
The first thing I noticed that distinguished the Sole F85 Treadmill from other treadmills is its well designed, sturdy construction. The treadmill’s durable construction ensures that it will last for years. The treadmill’s sturdy and durable construction also allowed the manufacturer to put some really great features on the machine.
The Sole F85 treadmill has a large running area that is great for someone who is tall, very heavy, or an intense runner. People with long limbs, or people who weigh upwards of 400 pounds, can feel comfortable and safe using this machine. It is equipped with a 3.5 continuous duty horsepower motor that easily accommodates large and/or very athletic people, and it won’t strain under pressure. The motor is very powerful, quiet, and ultra smooth.
I really like the shock absorption deck on the Sole F85 treadmill. This deck will enable people to run or walk longer than they normally could outdoors. Granted, a lot of high-end exercise machines are easier on the joints and knees than the relics of the past, but the Sole F85 has a Cushion Flex deck that gives more shock absorption than other treadmills.

The Sole F85 is a strong, sturdy treadmill. The frame itself weighs around 280 pounds. Yet, I found it to be a real space saving treadmill because of its easy-assist folding feature. Despite its weight and sturdiness, the machine can be folded with one hand.
It’s easy to see that a lot of thought went into the Sole F85 to make it consumer friendly. The company has put two onboard cooling fans on the treadmill, along with built in speakers that you can use for your MP3 players or iPod. This treadmill is certainly a lot different from the relics of the past!
The Sole F85 treadmill has other features consumers will like too such as speed and incline controls on the arm rests, a lifetime warranty on the motor, deck and frame, and a five year warranty on parts. If you are in the market for a new folding treadmill, make sure the Sole F85 is at the top of your list.

Boredom is one of the main killers of exercise programs. If you feel your treadmill workouts are becoming boring, mix it up a bit. There are a lot of things you can do to make your treadmill workouts interesting and enjoyable. Here are a few ideas:
Music, CDs, TV and Movies.
Most everyone has a favorite style of music. Use this to your advantage. Listening to your favorite music during treadmill workouts can make the time pass faster and it also helps you focus more. If music isn’t your thing, you may prefer to listen to audio books or motivational CDs. Treadmill workouts are also a great time to catch up on TV shows and watch movies.
Pyramid Walking.
Increase your walking pace by .1 mph every minute for 15 minutes. Then, slow your walking pace by .1 mph every minute for 15 minutes. This is an awesome mental and physical challenge.
Dancers.
If dancing is a favorite pastime, you can build up your strength and increase your balance by walking backwards on your treadmill. Keep your pace steady and even. This should only be tried by people who have good coordination!
Count the Numbers.
If you are a number junkie, count your steps every other minute. See how your steps change and increase as you move from one fitness level to another.
Circuit Training.
Treadmill workouts can benefit greatly by adding circuit training into the mix. Those of you who are interested in strength training can do lunges, crunches, free weights or some other strength building exercise for one minute after every five minutes of walking.
Stretching.
Stretching just feels good! After walking for ten minutes, get off of your machine and do stretch exercises for five minutes. Get back on your machine and repeat this process until your workout time is up.
Walk and Climb.
Place a stepper next to your treadmill and alternate between walking for five minutes and stepping for five minutes.
Walk To a Destination.
Many people love finding out how many miles it is to a favorite destination or relatives home and seeing how long it takes them to walk there on their treadmills. Chart your results and see how far it takes you to walk where you want to go.
Heart Rate Training.
Heart rate training is quick and intense. It is favored by many who are looking to bring variety into their workouts while keeping their fitness goals moving to the next level. Heart rate training involves monitoring your heart rate for the duration of your workout and moving in and out of different heart rate zones for two or three minute intervals.
These are just some ideas to make your treadmill workouts more fun and interesting. The possibilities of what you can do are endless. Try new things and see what works for you. Keeping boredom at bay will keep your fitness goals on track and make your treadmill workouts fly by.
Walking On Treadmills For Weight Loss

cap">Walking on a treadmill is by far one of the easiest ways to get in shape. Treadmills are the choice of many beginning exercisers because the machines are so accommodating. The same machine that you use in the beginning when you are just walking can be the same machine that you are running on months down the road.
One of the main reasons that people opt for walking on a treadmill, instead of going somewhere to walk or walking outside, is having your own treadmill takes away exercise excuses. You can’t blame Mother Nature for not working out, and you can’t say you are too tired to travel to your walking destination, when a treadmill is in your home. Another reason many people purchase their own personal treadmills is they can workout when it’s convenient to them-day or night.
One question that many people who start walking on a treadmill have is how much time they should walk. The answer to this question is purely individual based upon your fitness condition. Professionals say that a person should try to walk at least a half hour to an hour at a pace that is at 50-70 percent of their maximum heart rate.
You can estimate your maximum heart rate by applying a simple formula of 220 minus your age. For example, if you are 25 years old you take 220 minus 25 to get a maximum heart rate of 195. Fifty to seventy percent of that would be 98-137. Following the expert recommendations, you should strive to keep your heart rate between 98-137 beats per minute during your entire workout.
If that sounds too strenuous, you do have options. You can cut those minutes in half and walk twice a day, or cut them into three or four blocks of walking time. Whatever works for you is fine. The most important thing is you are getting up and moving more days of the week than you are not. Also be sure that regardless of how long you workout, you maintain a heart rate between 50-70 percent of your maximum heart rate for optimal results.

It won’t take long before you will start to see results from walking on a treadmill. Your routine will start to become easier-and when it does it’s time to increase your walking intensity. As your endurance increases, so will your maximum heart rate. To make walking on a treadmill work for you, try to keep your heart rate within 60 to 70 percent of your maximum heart rate. This will ensure that your fitness and cardiovascular system continues to increase, too.
No matter your fitness condition or your age, it’s always a good time to start getting healthy. Walking on a treadmill is a great way to do it, too. They serve as personal trainers as they keep up with your calories, walking distance and speed, heart rate and more. The great news is as your endurance increases, so can your workout on a treadmill.
