Is a Slimming Patch an Effective Diet Aid?

Slimming patches are a recent addition in the arena of weight loss nd dieting. Some people consider that a sli mming patch is a simpler way to take the ingredients that are found in the best slimming tablets, pills or supplements.

This ‘technology’ has been called a transdermal delivery system; the ingredients filter through the skin into your body.

One of the benefits of a slimming patch is that it’s discreet. A patch worn under the garments can’t be seen. It’s also slow-releasing and has the additional benefit of always being on, so there’s no need to remember what time you have to take your slimming tablets.

Slimming pills, in most cases have to revolve around food and the times you eat. But with slimming patches, it’s the opposite – where meal times are now governed by the patch.

There is a great deal of debate as to whether wearing a slimming patch will let enough fat blocking, fat binding or appetite suppressing substances into the body to be any good to help lose weight /p>

There are some truly effective slimming pills, and tablets on the market today. Some of them offer significant benefits for weight loss But slimming patches? Are they just a fad or gimmick, designed to lure the customer into spending more money?

Right now, the Food and Drug Administration in the US (FDA) is engaged in open discussions with several of the leading slimming patch manufacturers, to try and implement some sort of legislation.

The FDA is looking to stop the consumer being misled by outrageous claims, and force the slimming patch manufacturers to produce clinical evidence to substantiate their claims. A good thing.

What Are the Side Effects of Slimming Patches?

Any product that’s taken – whether it’s eaten, drunk or put on the skin, can carry some risk. Some of the claims made by slimming patch manufacturers might make you think that since the patch is applied to the skin, it therefore has no side effects.

This is not the case – it is important to understand exactly what it is you are introducing into your body.

Should I Use a Slimming Patch?

It’s definitely worth a try. If you’re looking to lose weight, then a slimming patch could give you the same weight loss benefit as a slimming pill, with less hassle. It’s easier and more convenient. But do ensure you find a reputable manufacturer.
